The department's Fire & Rescue services include equipment stored on three fully equipped Fire Engines. The equipment includes tools necessary to perform any fire supression or life safety task called upon as well as personal protective equipment to keep our members safe. <Under Construction> Rescue 631 is the 1st-out Engine/Rescue unit for most fire/rescue situations. It is equipped as a light rescue and primary fire attack vehicle. Upon arrival to any incident, this truck is prepared to perform immediate tasks such as primary search/rescue, Initial fire knock-down, or Accident scene stabilization. Some of the specialized equipment on this truck include: HRT ("Jaws of Life") cutters and rams, Airbags, Arcair slice tool, and Reciprocating Saws., 5" LDH, Deck Gun, 1000 Gal Water supply, 1250 GPM Pump, 1-3/4" crosslays, a 3" blitz line. Engine 632 is the 1st-out Engine housed at Station 632. It is the primary Engine for the eastern part of the township including Fairfield Beach. It is primarily equipped as an Engine/Pumper, but includes light rescue tools which allow it to serve as a backup to Rescue 631 if called upon. Some of the Specialized Equipment on this truck include: HRT ("Jaws of Life") cutters, Reciprocating Saws, 5" LDH, Deck Gun, 1000 Gal Water supply, 1000 GPM Pump, 1-3/4" crosslays, a 3" blitz line Engine 633 is the 2nd-out Engine housed at Station 630. It is utilized as a Tanker/Pumper for the department as well as mutual aid to all surrounding departments. It carries 1250 gallons of water, classifying it as a water tanker by the NFPA. A 1250 GPM pump and a portable monitor nozzle allows copious amounts of water to be applied to large fires in defensive mode situations. A collapsible portable dump tank allows for Tankers to dump their water and go refill before the water is needed at the scene. Other Specialized Equipment on this truck include: 5" LDH, Deck Gun, 1250 Gal Water supply, 1250 GPM Pump, 1-3/4" crosslays. At this time all members are required to complete the State of Ohio Basic Firefighter 1A certification within one year of membership. This not only provides new members with the basic skills needed to support the departments efforts, it orients EMS members with what to expect if they are called upon a Fire/Rescue Scene. Many members have chosen to expand their skills by completing additional trainings including Professional 2 (240+ hours of training required for Full-Time employment at most Fire Departments). All members are also trained to deal with Hazardous Materials by becoming certified in Awareness or Operations levels. The department holds training every Thursday night including in-house and 3rd party training to keep skills sharp and learn new techniques in medical, fire/rescue , and property conservation among others. Members are encouraged to complete specialized trainings and lead in training others in the department. Team involvement and leadership are stressed in order to perform well at the time of a real emergency. FIRE
